Fluoroscan System Service Biomedical Equipment Technician Training

Course Description

This course provides the information necessary to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the InSight, Premier Encore, and Fluoroscan III systems. This course is for customers who wish to service their own equipment. The intended audience is biomedical equipment technicians. Course length is three days. Course format is lecture/lab with multimedia presentations. The training is approximately sixty per cent hands-on.

 

Course Prerequisites

Attendees of this course need to have a basic knowledge of computers, electronics, and X-ray theory. Attendees must be fluent in the English language. Prior experience servicing medical equipment or X-ray systems is helpful but not necessary.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner should be able to:

  • Describe the Fluoroscan system maintenance philosophy
  • Locate and identify the function of major system components
  • Locate and describe the system operator controls
  • Operate the Fluoroscan system
  • Remove and replace field replaceable components
  • Perform field adjustments and calibration
  • Perform the preventative maintenance procedure
  • Describe how to get help

Resources Provided
The following materials are given to all course attendees to keep. Some materials are provided on CD-ROM. For this reason, it is recommended (but not required) that attendees bring a laptop computer to the training.

  • Select mechanical and electrical engineering drawings
  • Spare parts lists
  • Additional materials may be provided as necessary


Course Cost
The course tuition fee is US$3,400, which includes all course materials and lunch on class days. Tuition payment (check or approved purchase order) is due at time of registration. Attendees are responsible for all other expenses, including airfare, ground transportation, meals, and lodging. Please note that course auditing and recording devices (audio or video) are not permitted.

Notes
Unless specified otherwise, this course is conducted at the Hologic, Inc. corporate headquarters located at 35 Crosby Drive in Bedford, Massachusetts, USA (main telephone 781-999-7300). When making travel arrangements, please allow a minimum of two hours travel time between the airport and Hologic. Training attendees should enter the building at the West Entrance (faces Crosby Drive) and report to Customer Training Room 4. Training is conducted on weekdays only. Training starts at 8:30 AM and ends at 4:30 PM each day except for the last class day when training is typically completed by 12:00 noon to allow for afternoon travel.
